Worship Unplugged # 7 DRAMA in worship

There are plenty of examples of drama done badly, 101 skits that were lame even when performed in the U.S. Most skits lack preparation, voice projection or that killer finish that leaves people thinking. Keep it simple, informal and creative.
Some options:
1. Silhouette theatre with a sheet of calico and a floodlight behind it…. model the mood and/action of a story or scripture.
2. Playback theatre is where a nominated group have 2 minutes after the bulk of the worship to come up with and perform a sketch in response to what they have heard or experienced.
3. Theatre Sports [TS] could be modified to set up sketch/es on the theme
TS includes:
 Space Jump where the story changes as actors jump in and then out of a sketch at set time intervals
 Finish the Story gives you the ending and you design a sketch to get there
 Commentary offers a two hander sports commentary on an everyday event
 Murder weapon suggests a weapon and you design a plausible story to use it

This is also a great youth group teams activity.
4. Tableau or static human sculptures change shape and freeze over time as thr worship progresses
5. Callico Art with a sheet on a frame and figures painted during worship/scripture
