Art in worship brings an entirely different form of 'language'. Ther are lots of ways to represent ideas, give opportunity for response, or just to create space for people. One way to build on a theme, bring unity and make room for diverse responses is:
*Hand out A4 sized rectangles of calico
* Set a theme, biblical passage or idea
*Provide paints and brushes etc
*Encourage people to write/draw something in response which represents the theme
*Back tape these together to form one mural and later stitch this into a banner
These make great theme banners for the church season, a camp theme or a group identity
