   I've played cricket or rugby with a number of the crew from Cooks Hill Fire Station in Newcastle and most weeks if you drive past National Park you'll see an Engine and a crowd of red and blue wearing touch footballers keeping themselves fit and ready for action...
   To some they wonder what the crews do between disasters [house or bush fires, false alarms, training drills etc] but essentially aside from 'waiting' it's important to be ALERT... ready for possibility for surprise or maybe a lower grade cricket or rugby game on the weekend!!
