"Lead with Wisdom: How Wisdom Transforms Good Leaders into Great Leaders" Mark Strom

I have just started to properly read a hard copy of Mark Strom's excellent book. I have enjoyed exploring his blog and TEDx talk about Grounded Questions that's helped develop ideas I've always held to be important in leadership and facilitation.
I will post a 'Review along the Way' as many people were interested when I mentioned it before... I continue to like the way in which pairs of pages and small sections deal with particular ideas so you can get a lot from a short read and dip into different places as you see fit.
In short, Grounded Questions give rise to shared stories, encourage concrete conversation and help suggest directions or actions as you delve into what's being heard...

In related things but not directly from this reading I have recently been reminded of a few simple important ideas:
- Listening is active and tiring, but helps the search for a grounded question and helps encourage participation
- When ideas are shared it's so important to show they've been heard and to affirm contributions
- Creative conversations boost my energy
- Well intentioned ranting is still ranting
- Just because you want people to value your contribution and to think well of you, doesn't mean they do, or will
- Being present for people, brings it's own rewards
- Hard conversations are hard for a reason but must be pursued
- Change is painful but most certainly necessary
- Movies are my favourite form of escape from otherwise stressful work and mindfulness
That'll do for now....
